摘要: Abstract The evolution of human from ancient times to modern era has witnessed several environmental and social changes which contributed genetic epigenetic makeup beings in turn is responsible for its present phenotype. In the recent past, owing socioeconomic developmental pressure, a large epidemiologic shift towards non-communicable disease pattern been noticed many developing countries including India resulted into incidence diabetes cardiovascular diseases epidemic proportion. These two pathologies form subset associated with metabolic derangement, popularly termed as syndrome. Earlier status pathophysiological rationale were largely obscure hence it was given rather disguised name – Syndrome X, an icon unknown. While initially contemplated be endocrine problem insulin resistance, scientific insight about this pathology undergone gradual evolution. Therefore pathogenic consequent diagnostic modality consistently changed. Quite fascinatingly phenomenal conversion etiopathology inflammatory pathogenesis imprinted paradigm shift. From laboratory medicine perspective, these evidences have immense impact steer research development apposite very significant nationally relevant health problem.
