摘要: Sixteen Wenner and Schlumberger array electrical soundings were made over portions of the Mallard North landfill in DuPage County, Illinois, to map gross layered structure a closed landfill. Sounding curves fit standard type values inverted least-squares procedure yield multilayer geoelectrical models. Wood, newspaper, cloth, glass, plastic, metal refuse interspersed with soil exhibited resistivities 9–19 ohm-m (unsaturated) 2–7 (leachatesaturated). Mature unfractured clay-till cover material resistivity about 30 ohm-m, its thickness was estimated within 27% true thickness. Larger errors encountered fractured freshly emplaced cover. Soundings also accurate leachate levels thicknesses (errors for both averaged 30%). While produced models comparable accuracy, less sensitive heterogeneities easier deploy. Moore's cumulative interpretation method found be unreliable interpreting this data. Fractures present material, lateral changes level, variations contributed interpretation. Despite these limitations, generated from are reasonably their depictions internal conditions Such could used other landfills that lack construction operational records.
