摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the remarkable progress in chemistry of heavy ketones leading to systematic comparison their structures and properties that are capable existence as stable species if highly reactive M=X bond is adequately protected toward dimerization. Kinetic stabilization superior thermodynamic elucidate intrinsic nature ketones. A more general account whole double bonds between heavier Group 14 16 elements reviewed. The structural features (M = Si, Ge, Sn; X chalcogen atom), such trigonal planar geometry shortening compared corresponding M–X single similar those ketones, have much higher reactivity because weak π bonds. study on containing silicon through lead using steric protection with Tbt group reveals a ketone lead, R 2 Pb═X, unique it less than its isomeric lumbylene RPb–XR.
