摘要: The development of successful social-cognitive abilities requires one to track, accumulate, and integrate knowledge other people9s mental states across time. Regions the brain differ in their temporal scale (i.e., a cortical hierarchy) those receptive long windows may facilitate abilities; however, timescale processing remains be investigated. current study utilized naturalistic viewing examine its relation middle childhood - time expanding social spheres increasing abilities. We found that, compared adults, children exhibited reduced low-frequency power temporo-parietal junction (TPJ) specialization for within TPJ regions broadly implicated default mode network higher-order visual processing. Further, timescales right dorsal medial prefrontal cortex became more 9adult-like9 as function children9s comprehension character states. These results suggest that hierarchy is immature important an accurate representation complex stimuli during this age.
