摘要: Abstract Purpose : The purpose of this study was to test the hypotheses that hemoglobin recovered by arthrocentesis superior joint space symptomatic human temporomandibular joints (TMJs) is “old” not iatrogenically introduced procedure and it exists primarily in a non-native or denatured conformation state may be sufficient catalyze reaction leading formation damaging free radicals. Patients Methods Twelve patients diagnosed with unilateral articular disk displacement TMJ arthralgia were included study. A performed affected TMJ, outflow lavage volumes collected serial 2-mL fractions. α-Hemoglobin/albumin ratios determined for each fraction densitometric analysis sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). In addition, 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) assays used determine hemoglobin. Results High α-hemoglobin/albumin relative serum (at least 10 times greater) observed several fractions fluid all subjects studied. Because tissue half-life significantly longer than albumin, these findings indicate much TMJs represents present before procedure. Furthermore, based on reactivity TMB assay, we estimate up 89% α-hemoglobin samples state. Conclusions These results significant amount arthrocentesis. Recent studies suggest contribute redox active iron can reaction, Such process represent one earliest molecular events involved pathogenesis degenerative disease.
