摘要: Abstract A mathematical model describing competition for a common food resource among visual and tactile planktivores is developed. Sensitivity of the competitive regime to environmental changes are studied by analysing their effects on foraging rates niche availability both planktivore types. Depth, spatial, daily seasonal variations in factors biotic abiotic origin may result great regime. Optical properties water column greatest importance competition. In addition abundance size prey, small scale turbulence, sun irradiance importance. Inherent contrast prey organisms likely modify effect from above under certain circumstances only, but together with size, also enhance differentiation competitors. By studying zero growth rate isoclines populations at different depths, we show that habitat divided into regimes. These can be thought as relatively stable niches separated an ecotone rather unpredictable ever changing regime, due factors. most cases it optimal stay shallow while compete better greater depths. However, simulations high predation pressure make near surface waters hostile many such fish, thereby making this highly productive available jellyfish. Results discussed relation naturally occurring impact anthropogenic Changes optical eutrophication might have drastic outcome competition, thus structure marine chains. While too little known about physiology, life history behaviour pelagic specific predictions, work indicates potential strong interactions functional types planktivores.
