摘要: Abstract. Some Silurian-Devonian Argentinian trilobites characterized by infaunal behavior during molting are considered. After a taxonomic reappraisal, species previously referred to lineage of the phacopid Paciphacops is proposed as Echidnops taphomimus new species, from Lower Devonian (probably late Lochkovian) Talacasto Formation, Argentine Precordillera. The visual surface E. indicates that irregular pattern lens arrangement, typical early phacopids such Ordovician Ormathops, can also be recognized in more derived relatives, providing insights on some evolutionary aspects development.
