摘要: Neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease dementia (PDD) and with Lewy bodies (DLB) affect cortical subcortical networks involved saccade generation. We therefore expected impairments performance both disorders. In order to improve the pathophysiological understanding investigate usefulness of saccades for differential diagnosis, were tested age- education-matched patients PDD (n = 20) DLB 20), Alzheimer's 22) 24), controls 24). Reflexive (gap, overlap) complex (prediction, decision antisaccade) electro-oculography. had similar impairment all tasks (P > 0.05, not significant). Compared controls, they impaired reflexive execution (gap overlap latencies, P 0.05). Patients had, compared (for all, 0.05) only minimal tasks, i.e. hypometric gain gap task 0.04). Impaired allowed discrimination between versus (sensitivity or =60%, specificity =77%) =88%) when +/-1.5 standard deviations was used group discrimination. conclude that may be helpful diagnosis are either (Alzheimer's disease) nigrostriatal neurodegeneration (Parkinson's exists solely; however, become prominent combined DLB. The similarities underline these conditions underscore differences from disease.
