摘要: Pleurodira is a clade of Gondwanan turtles that reached Europe at the beginning Late Cretaceous. It recognized as most abundant and diverse group freshwater in uppermost Cretaceous record this continent, being represented by several members Bothremydidae. Two well-preserved relatively complete skulls are studied paper. They come from lower Eocene levels French locality Saint-Papoul (Aude). These specimens attributable to new taxon, Tartaruscola teodorii gen. et sp. nov., identified bothremydid. This form constitutes only known unambiguous valid representative Bothremydidae Cenozoic Europe. The taxon diagnosed autapomorphies also an exclusive combination characters. one few Bothremydini described for outside Ouled Abdoun Basin Morocco. member Foxemydina, here European record, whose presence post-Mesozoic demonstrated Foxemydina T. African Bothremydina Bothremys kellyi, both Ypresian, youngest hitherto known.
