摘要: The aim of the present study was to compare cryopreservation, osmotic tolerance and glycerol toxicity between mature immature epididymal kangaroo spermatozoa investigate whether lack cryopreservation success cauda epididymidal may be related increased complexity sperm ultrastructure acquired during transit. Caput were recovered from red-necked wallabies (RNW; Macropus rufogriseus) eastern grey kangaroos (EGK; M. giganteus). In Experiment 1, caput frozen thawed using a standard procedure in Tris-citrate buffer with or without 20% glycerol. Although resulted significant increase plasma membrane damage, they more tolerant than epididymidis (P < 0.05). 2, EGK diluted into phosphate-buffered saline media varying osmolarity their determined. Plasma membranes hypo-osmotic 3, RNW incubated at 35 4°C examine cytotoxic effects At both temperatures, showed less damage compared when exposed These experiments clearly indicate that maturation results decreased ability withstand physiological stresses associated cryopreservation.
