摘要: Political science is about power, how we exercise power in our relations with others. All relationships involve but political only concerned the public ‘other.’ One of many theoretical problems discipline has not resolved (and probably never will to everyone’s satisfaction) where draw line between murky area and private. But that aside, a more pressing problem, directly affecting people’s immediate lives, scientists all actors perceive power. The prevailing view leans towards model calls for dominating other party conflict so as maximize gains ‘our side’ minimize those party, ‘the opponent.’ If goal strongly desired, or an ontological need at stake, ultimate sanction physical force be applied, irrespective any proclaimed reluctance use violence. This approach said imposed because opponent’ also perceived terms needing dominate ‘opponent,’ no matter what it takes. Failure respond kind ensure becomes loser win/lose outcome. To act outside orthodoxy ‘power over’ sure recipe disaster. Or this case? Is world locked into system ultimately using over,’ can satisfaction parties? such concept too ‘idealistic,’ related way real operates?
