摘要: Abstract The bis[4-(2-pyridylmethyleneamino)phenyl]methane ligand L and it’s dinuclear double-helical mercury complex, 1 have been synthesized characterized by CHN analysis, IR UV–Vis spectroscopy. crystal structures of were determined from single X-ray diffraction. molecule is generated a crystallographic two-fold axis adopts an E configuration with respect to the C N bond. dihedral angles between planes pyridine ring, chelate benzene ring in show coplanarity these planes, leading considerable planarity moieties. two phenyl rings diarylmethane spacer are inclined at angle 8.75° one another, so that forms appreciable V shape. asymmetric unit contains independent Hg atoms, ligands four nitrate anions. wrap around canters forming structure. Three anions act as bidentate other anion uncoordinated.
