摘要: Summary Purpose:  To redefine benign myoclonus of early infancy (BMEI) through analysis clinical and neurophysiologic features in 102 patients with the aim to widen spectrum syndrome, including a number different expressions transient nonepileptic paroxysmal movements occurring normal infants. Methods:  We recruited from one center Argentina two Italy, infants neurologic psychomotor development presenting brief abnormal movements. Children motor phenomena only during sleep were excluded. Patients interictal or ictal electroencephalography (EEG) findings also The follow-up ranged 2–40 years. Results:  One hundred (60 male) met inclusion criteria. Age at onset 1–12 months, median age 6.2 months. following recognized: (1) myoclonus, (2) spasms tonic contractions, (3) shuddering, (4) atonia negative (5) more than type phenomenon. In majority cases episodes occurred while awake repeated several times day. 45 (44.1%) contractions appeared clusters. Conclusions:  Based on EMG this large series infants, we postulate that syndrome is wider initially suspected, manifestations their correlation patterns will allow recognition definitely condition comprising variety episodic babies.
