摘要: Abstract We position pleasure travel within Beck’s risk society as a contradictory form of consumption that simultaneously produces individual and global environmental risk. examine the paradoxical emergence ‘anxious traveler’ from this contradiction, arguing social category is necessary to individualize apportion global, associated with frequent flying, hence legitimate reproduction unsustainable practices. identify several future scenarios may synthesize frequent-flying dialectic. On reflection, these themselves appear cultural productions, suggesting our attempts imagine are crippled by hegemonic ahistoricism contemporary capitalism.
