摘要: We conduct magnetized spherical Couette (MSC) flow experiments in the return instability regime with GaInSn as working fluid, ratio of inner to outer sphere radii ri/ro = 0.5, Reynolds number Re 1000, and Hartmann Ha ∈ [27.5, 40]. Rotating waves different azimuthal wavenumbers m {2, 3, 4} manifest certain ranges experiments, depending on whether values were fixed or varied from initial values. These observations demonstrate multistability rotating waves, which we attribute dynamical system representing state MSC tending move along same solution branch bifurcation diagram when is varied. In both varying Ha, rotation frequencies are consistent results nonlinear stability analysis. A brief numerical investigation shows that differences develop also depend modes initially excited.
