摘要: This study aimed to assess the literature available on effects, peri-implant tissues, of degradation products released from dental implants as a consequence therapeutic treatment for peri-implantitis and/or wear-corrosion titanium. A review PubMed medline database was performed up December 31, 2016. The following search terms were used: "titanium wear and implant"; corrosion "bio-tribocorrosion"; "peri-implantitis"; "treatment peri-implantitis"; particles release ion implant". keywords applied in different combinations without limits time period or type work. In addition, reference lists relevant articles searched further studies. Seventy-nine scientific topic retrieved. results showed that pro-inflammatory cytokines, infiltration inflammatory response cells activation osteoclasts activity are stimulated tissues presence metal ions. Moreover, degenerative changes reported macrophages neutrophils phagocytosed titanium microparticles, mutations occurred human cultured medium containing titanium-based nanoparticles. Debris has cytotoxic genotoxic potential tissues. Thus, amount physicochemical properties determine magnitude detrimental effect
