摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the compartmentation of second-messenger action. Extensive work has been reported by a number investigators approaching problems compartmentalized They have produced body evidence strongly suggesting that compartmentalization plays vital role in cellular regulation. Immunocytochemical localization second messengers and proteins controlled cyclic AMP (cAMP), cGMP, Ca2+ often show distinct subcellular patterns best explained compartmentation. cAMP serves as messenger for numerous hormones, including many catecholamines, prostaglandins, peptide hormones. is synthesized intracellularly from ATP membrane-associated enzyme complex adenylate cyclase. Hormone binding to receptor signals catalytic unit cyclase increase synthesis rate via an intermediate protein G8. The only known mechanism which regulates eukaryotic function through activation cAMP-dependent kinases (cA-PKs), two general isozymic types exist. holoenzyme tetramer consisting regulatory subunits. Kinase activity regulated sites on each (R) subunits cA-PK holoenzyme.
