摘要: Micro-x-ray fluorescence (MXRF) is a useful characterization tool for high-throughput screening of combinatorial libraries. Due to the increasing threat use chemical warfare (CW) agents both in military actions and against civilians by terrorist extremists, there strong push improve existing methods develop means detection broad spectrum CW minimal amount time increase national security. This paper describes technique receptor discovery aid sensor development. MXRF can screen materials elemental composition at mesoscale level (tens hundreds micrometers). The key aspect this work commercial instrumentation coupled with inherent heteroatom elements within target molecules reaction provide rapid specific identification lead species. method demonstrated an 11-mer oligopeptide library selective binding degradation products nerve agent VX. identified oligopeptides be used as molecular receptors nondestructive, requires sample preparation or special tags analysis, depends on desired sensitivity.
