摘要: Abstract To reduce the boron concentration in desalinated water by reverse osmosis (RO) most used technology is second RO step. The membranes employed are typical of brackish working at high pH. In this article, kinetic parameters transport through were determined and influence pH was studied. A pilot plant fed with seawater used. Boron mainly form boric acid equilibrium borate. variations alter relative proportion these species. differences observed as a function do not occur solely due to physical properties membrane, but result two interactions: species present boron, borate, characteristics membrane. coefficient reflection permeability has been calculated. on acid–borate justifies marked rejection low pH, while values coefficients each between membranes.
