摘要: In the search for functional correlates of information processing in brain tissue, early interest electroencephalogram proved disappointing. Although phenomena such as blocking alpha rhythm with eye closing and visual attention (Berger 1929, Adrian 1947) were quickly recognized, it has remained much later studies sophisticated computer analyses pattern-recognition techniques to reveal EEG decision-making (Elazar Adey 1967; Hanley, Walter, Rhodes, 1968), psychological stress hostile questioning (Berkhout, 1969), difficult perceptual tasks (Walter, Kado, 1967). Even though latter have revealed signatures groups subjects well individuals, clear evidence been lacking that would assign a causal role processing. Indeed, widely considered “noise” cerebral having no direct physiological role, even could be correlated specific behavioral states, including brief epochs accompany perception, these might reliable indicators quite subtle differences, correct versus incorrect task performance at time (Hanley, or opening hand phantasied motor (Nirenberg, Stear 1971).
