Assessment of Godavari estuarine mangrove ecosystem through trace metal studies

摘要: Trace metals (Fe, Mn, Cu, Co, Ni. Pb, Cd and Cr) analyses in particulate matter sediments were carried out at 16 different stations the Godavari mangrove ecosystem covering three regions viz., Kakinada (KKD) bay, Goutami-Godavari estuary (GGE) Coringa Gaderu environments (CGME). Higher concentrations of trace noticed environment compared to KKD bay GGE region. The significant correlations observed between several couples as well numbers heavy Zn) with Total Suspended Matter (TSM) organic could be an indication role complexation distribution pattern these metals. Further carbon (OC) Cr, Cu Mn all indicate that acts a metal carrier. values Pollution Load Index (PLI) low varied 0.34 0.68 0.47 0.49 and, from 0.62 1.03 CGME area, which estuarine is not pollution concern under present scenario.
