摘要: The trombidiid subfamily Neotrombidiinae Feider is re-established and redefined, based primarily on larval characters but also adult characters. It closely related to the Trombellinae one hand Leeuwenhoekidae other. consists of two genera, namely Monunguis Wharton, which monobasic known only from larva, Neotrombidium Leonardi, with 13 described species 7 are larva 8 (the 2 correlated by rearings). The history family-level placement this group, controversy over whether or not recognize reviewed. that justify separate recognition enumerated. The each following described, illustrated keyed: streblida Wharton Caribbean area, barringunense Hirst Australia, N. tricuspidum Borland North America, tenuipes (Womersley) Malaya, samsinaki (Daniel) new combination central Europe, anuroporum Central bengalense India, tenebrione eastern America. Six other adult, listed separately treated taxonomically here. The larvae parasitize insects: those hyperparasites streblid flies whereas ectoparasites cerambycid, clerid, elaterid, tenebrionid beetles pass part their life under bark trees. In Microtrombidiinae, Camerotrombidium Thor noted as valid replacement name for preoccupied Ottonia Kramer.
