摘要: Abstract An in vitro fertilization (IVF) assay sensitive enough to detect changes the fertilizing capacity of spermatozoa would be useful tool with which investigate action testicular toxicants. A known toxicant, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether (EGME), was used induce specific lesions germinal wpithelium so that ability a rat IVF system fertility could tested. Male rats were given single, oral doses 50, 100, and 200 mg EGME/kg. Spermatozoa recovered from cauda epididymides these males at intervals after treatment; their assessed using IVF, testes processed for histologic examination. The control consistently greater than 65%. treated EGME had reduced times dosing. Thus, 50 EGME/kg there 5 weeks; 100 3.5, 4.5, 5, 6, 6.5 weeks, 2 3 between 4.5 6 7 weeks. This correspondedto damage elongated spermatids (2, 3, 3.5 weeks), pachytene spermatocytes (4.5 leptotene preleptone (7 weeks). accords well data serial breeding trials reports exposure EGME. Therefore, it possible EGME-induced correlated closely observations damage. It also demonstrate clear dose response
