摘要: In the county of Stockholm, between 1970 and 2002, we have previously reported a 3-fold parallel increase in incidence tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) proportion human papillomavirus (HPV) positive SCC. Here, followed above parameters all patients (n = 120) diagnosed with SCC during 2003-2007 same area, also correlation to our previous data. Ninety-eight pretreatment biopsies were available presence HPV DNA HPV-16 E6 E7 RNA tested by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) RT-PCR. Incidence data obtained from Swedish Cancer Registry. Data 2002 for comparison. was present 83 98 (85%) 2003 2007 77 these positive. found 98% 52 analyzed cases. The HPV-positive cancers had significantly increased both (p < 0.0001) as well 2000 0.01), 68% (95% confidence interval (CI), 53-81) 2000-2002; 77% CI, 63-87) 2003-2005; 93% 82-99) 2006-2007. rate tumors almost doubled each decade 2007, decline HPV-negative tumors. conclusion, is still increasing County suggesting an epidemic virus-induced carcinoma, soon practically being positive, cervical cancer.
