摘要: Most studies in surface science start with atomically clean substrate surface. Hence, knowledge of the atomic structure surfaces is great importance. It appears that majority surfaces, especially those semiconductors, are essentially modified respect to corresponding planes bulk. In this chapter, general types such modifications, called relaxation and reconstruction, first introduced then illustrated by several examples. Of course, these examples cannot cover diversity structures occurring at crystals, but they should give an impression what might look like kind physics stand behind a particular structure.
