摘要: Songs of wild male Anna hummingbirds (Calypte anna) consist syllables grouped into phrases. Nearest neighbors tend to share similar syllable types, rhythms and syntax. from different localities contain syntax repetition indices. A raised by hand in isolation produced a song consisting highly variable types wide frequency range. The was simple structure, were not Three males as group sang songs containing two stereotyped sung alternating sequence without phrase structure. These three shared data our study indicate that despite its relatively syrinx the hummingbird learns frequency, rhythm (as do oscines with their more complex syringes) during development process.
