摘要: Cystic echinococcosis (CE) caused by Echinococcus granulosus sensu lato is a widespread zoonotic disease of global concern. In Nigeria, the exact picture/status CE unclear, as most states are largely uninvestigated. Yet, with every parasitic zoonosis, first step towards planning comprehensive management and control programme involves assessment available national/regional prevalence data, host range, risk factors at play in transmission dynamics. Published articles on were searched PubMed Africa Journal Online (AJOL) databases. Inclusion criteria based studies reporting animals humans (including case reports) from 1970 to 2018. this study, we evaluated summarized cystic reports Nigeria found that post 1970–80s, have remained sparse regardless high recorded early years investigation. addition, information genetic population structure role wildlife still lacking. This study appraises distribution identified areas where surveillance efforts should be focused intensified.
