摘要: Iron, the most abundant and important element on Earth, is concentrated mainly in core though only fourth common earth's crust. Iron has been exploited since prehistoric times. is, from an economic perspective, significant metal. Steel, main iron-based end product, now produced greater quantities than any other man-made material (except for concrete) which confirms its central importance modern industrialized economies. This chapter covers sedimentary hosted iron deposits that account > 90% of ore mined at present. The bulk today Precambrian iron-formation, either unenriched or enriched through geological processes. Ooidal ores have past such as ‘minette’ are channel Western Australia Kazakhstan. Finally, minor bog covered because their historical significance.
