摘要: The purpose of the present study was to reconstruct avalanche which destroyed village Arreu in 1803 solve unknowns about this historic event, and a broader context, improve knowledge these low-frequency avalanches Pyrenees. To end, multidisciplinary approach carried out by searching historical sources databases, reviewing aerial imagery, surveying site for terrain vegetation inspection, using dendrogeomorphological analysis, interviewing local people, finally apply SAMOS-AT computational simulations statistical α-β model. In Monars path, 5 major events were identified, including one 1803. Most dense flow avalanches, but evidence powder-fraction effects deduced from survey. Frequency analyses assigned return period more than 100 years event. Historical information suggests that succession is necessary an event reach hamlet. Simulations indicate single destructive size would be sufficient cause catastrophe, and, at same time, it travel 1 km further down along river main valley (Noguera Pallaresa).
