Psychological distress, related work attendance, and productivity loss in small-to-medium enterprise owner/managers.

摘要: Owner/managers of small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) are an under-researched population in terms psychological distress and the associated health economic consequences. Using baseline data from evaluation Business Mind program, a mental promotion intervention amongst SME owner/managers, this study investigated: (i) prevalence high/very high distress, past-month sickness absenteeism presenteeism days owner/managers; (ii) associated, self-reported lost productivity; (iii) associations between work, non-work business-specific factors work attendance behaviours. In our sample 217 owner/managers 36.8% reported distress. Of group 38.7% absenteeism, 82.5% presenteeism, those reporting were 50% less productive as than usual. Negative binomial regression was used to demonstrate independent effects socio-demographic, work-related wellbeing health-related factors, well various individual business characteristics on continuous measures days. Health-related (self-rated treatment) strongest correlates higher (p < 0.05). Work-related (job tension job satisfaction) Higher educational attainment, treatment neuroticism also correlated with more SME-specific information about occurrence behaviour, variables that influence these decisions, needed for development guidelines managing within sector.
