摘要: Abstract Calculations of the normalized back-scattering cross-section, σb, ice spheres surrounded by shells liquid water have been made from an extension Mie theory to a two-layer model. Curves σb as function thickness liquid-water shell are presented for various-sized 3.21, 4.67 and 10.0 cm radiation. It is shown that, depending upon size sphere wavelength incident radiation, may either increase or decrease acquires shell. For certain-sized spheres, interference phenomena, which in some instances lower value several orders magnitude, evidence during course melting.Comparisons between theoretical results here experimental measurements melting performed Atlas et al (1960).
