摘要: The importance of walking and physical activity as determinants good health has been well established in the medical public literature, but a significant number Americans live sedentary lifestyles. Aplethora variables lie behind an individual’s decision to walk, cycle, or exercise. This article focuses on particular environmental variable, safety neighborhood surroundings, explores how it is influencing activity. It integrates literatures from health, criminology, planning identify, qualify, evaluate link between security considerations then proceeds place concerns within spatial context examine design policy interventions that can help create environments more amenable walking.
