摘要: Abstract Bone marrow transplantation is done by introducing a source of hemopoietic stem cells into general circulation in anticipation their recognition and selective lodging the bone marrow. We tested hypothesis that molecular basis this means lectin-carbohydrate interaction. synthesized number neoglycoproteins covalently binding pyranose derivatives various monosaccharides to bovine serum albumin (BSA). These reagents galactosyl-terminating glycoprotein asialofetuin were used inhibit engraftment intravenously transplanted lethally irradiated mice. In splenectomized mice, whom occurs only marrow, galactosyl-BSA, mannosyl-BSA, but not fucosyl-BSA inhibited homing cells.
