摘要: Abstract The objective of the study was to evaluate effects feeding varying levels sun–dried red grape pomace (DGP; Vitis vinifera L. cultivar Pinotage) on nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation, microbial nitrogen (N) supply, N retention and efficiency utilization in lambs. Twenty-one Dohne Merino wether lambs (6.0 ± 1.0 months 51.6 ± 4.70 kg initial body weight) were randomly assigned three diets containing 0, 100 200 g DGP per kg diet dry matter pelleted total mixed rations (TMR). experiment consisted 14 days for adaptation 7 data collection. Intake neutral detergent fiber (aNDFom) starch decreased linearly (P ≤ 0.05) while ether extract intake increased with addition DGP. Apparent tract aNDFom digestibility increasing Total volatile fatty acids (VFA) production quadratically influenced by addition. Increasing led a linear decrease concentrations butyrate valerate. Allantoin, purine derivatives excreted declined Nitrogen not (P > 0.05). Overall, lamb finisher reduced carbohydrate intake, yield, VFA concentration but did have adverse effect utilization.
