摘要: A new comprehensive list of possible and probable dust activity has been compiled from various published lists additional data. All previously listed events have reviewed evaluated. For uniformity clarity, each event is classified using a system that includes well-defined nomenclature. Maps showing the reported locations individual major events, as well summary map smaller “local” compiled. Detailed commentaries describe and/or circumstances their observation. The seasonal distribution Martian diagrammed discussed together with annual (Mars years) timeline frequency photographic coverage. compilation shows storms originated in many different regions across planet, some evidence more southern hemisphere generally specific like Hellas. Regional observed nearly all seasons, except for two relatively narrow periods which occur near times when polar caps reached maximum/minimum extent. tend to most frequently, planet-encircling during spring summer although there significant interannual variability.
