摘要: The Late Pennsylvanian (Kasimovian, early Stephanian) sub- to perimontaneous Souss basin, situated in the present-day southwestern High Atlas mountains of Morocco, contains hitherto only known late Paleozoic entomofauna from North Africa, which is simultaneously also southernmost Euramerican entomofauna. present study provides descriptions, identifications, and revisions several species belonging genera Phyloblatta Anthracoblattina (family Phyloblattidae) genus Compsoblatta Compsoblattidae). A relatively large number well-preserved forewings, compared with congeneric insect localities Europe America, permits insights into individual, intraspecific, interspecific variability venation pattern as indispensable base for description new specimens revision older species. beds cover a wide range potential habitats. They are different paleogeographical positions within basin scattered across 900 m thick succession sediments. single represent sedimentary biotic subenvironments swamps mires shallow deep lakes fluvial-dominated megaenvironment.
