摘要: Recording performance as a function of write current is studied for single-pole and trailing-shield heads. Optimal not obvious from saturation curves. Media noise, jitter, error rate give better guidance. For head, there an optimal current, beyond which, the field strength may continue to increase, but gradient degrades leading higher noise. trailing shield achieved by reverse-flying longitudinal heads, magnitude main pole improve with increasing current. However, return erasure also increases. There critical above partial leads excessive Finite-element modeling these two types poles has been performed confirm understand experimental findings.
