摘要: Abstract The typical cleavage lines of holoblastic eggs are shown to bear a close correspondence the nodal selected harmonic functions on sphere which result from minimization principle for generalized surface energy function and requirement binary process. few degeneracies occur resolved by weak polar field. modifications characterize radial, bilateral spiral analyzed in terms secondary perturbing fields. implications this description relation laws form theories organismic development discussed.
