摘要: An epidemic of severe ulcerations the tongue and buccal cavity was documented in subadult adult largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) from Currituck Sound, North Carolina (USA). Other external clinical signs were not present. Between November 1986 May 1987, reports fishermen indicated that as many 90% large (>300 mm total length) affected. Older fish most commonly involved. The leech, Myzobdella lugubris (=Illinobdella moorei), consistently present on or near lesions. Lesions heavily infected with several different bacteria apparently secondary invaders. Stressful (high) salinity an interruption normal migratory cycle parasite are suggested possible causes for this condition these bass.
