Measuring the Social Capital of Laid-off Chinese Workers

摘要: Confusion over the concept of social capital is reflected in variety methodologies used to measure it. In studying re-employment laid-off Chinese workers, author endeavours their individual two ways. To `possessed capital' (i.e. accessible resources networks), `spring festival contacts network' was studied for information about network size, density and embedded resources. The actually also measured. It found that workers have less than ordinary citizens. While searching new jobs, they mainly depend on informal methods substantial help from network. Strong ties are more frequently by these workers. However, with very low high amount possessed tend avoid using re-employment.
