摘要: Eggs of seabirds have routinely been used as indicators environmental pollution in the Arctic. However, variability organohalogen concentration and composition associated with laying sequence, not defined. We examined a suite PCBs, organochlorine (OC) pesticides by-products, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), biphenyls (PBBs) methylsulfonyl- (MeSO2) PCBs complete 3-egg clutches glaucous gulls (Larus hyperboreus), plasma samples females collected from Norwegian SigmaPCB, SigmaOC SigmaPBDE, but SigmaMeSO2-PCB, concentrations eggs were positively associated, increasing magnitude significance first through last-laid egg, female plasma. these classes fluctuated irrespective order clutch. In general, maternal transfer favored low K(ow) and/or less persistent compounds, whereas recalcitrant higher-halogenated compounds readily transferred, consequently more selectively retained mother.
