摘要: The co-adsorption of oxygen and deuterium at 100 K on a Pd(110) surface has been studied by measurements the change in work function (Δφ) thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS). When with co-adsorbed species is heated, adsorbates O D react to form D2O which desorbs from T > 200 K. peaks shift continuously lower temperatures as coverage (θD) increases. maximum production estimated be ∼ 0.26 ML (1 = 9.5 × 1014 atoms cm−2), resulting reaction layer containing 0.65 0.3 O. increase caused adsorption saturation onto precovered decreases almost linearly ΔφO surface. On pre-adsorbed however, Δφ contributed abruptly ΔφD mV. This sharp occurs θD 1 believed associated development reconstructed 2) phase D/Pd(110).
