摘要: Classical economic voting theory has received considerable empirical support. Voters reward the incumbent for good times, punish it bad. But success of this paradigm, which views economy as strictly a valence issue, crowded out testing other theoretical dimensions. In particular, positional and patrimonial have hardly been examined. The former concerns different preferences voters on policy issues, such progressive taxation. latter place in structure itself, not merely members social class but actual property owners. Through analysis special battery items, from 2008 US presidential election survey, we demonstrate that was important to three ways: valence, position, patrimony. Taken together, these dimensions go far an explanation vote choice, at least with respect short-term forces acting political behavior.
