摘要: Background: Mealtimes are understood to provoke anxiety for individuals with eating disorders. Despite these difficulties associated and the key role weight restoration plays within in-patient treatment, little attention literature has focused on investigating optimum environment encourage greater food intake of those care. Contrastingly, non-clinical research, a vast number studies have been conducted exploring implications presence different external stimuli environment, their ability both increase decrease intake, alter mealtime experience. To date, implementation mealtimes disorders wards is not evidence-based there no standardised guidelines from which work. Objectives: The present thesis four broad aims: (1) gather data inform current practices implemented services; (2) assess staff service users experiences practice; (3) investigate environmental factors in relation psychopathology; (4) protocol regarding possible impact factors. Main findings: A findings presented thesis. First, variety between currently units presented. Following this, qualitative highlight perspective users. Additionally, user interviews identify successful approaches used mealtimes, offer suggestions improvement implementation. Finally, suggest that distractions seen be capable altering consumption laboratory setting decreasing several clinical case studies. Implications: this provide evidence anxiety, thus increasing ease amongst receiving treatment. Recommendations made as how may consider when designing implementing protocols. Further practice following Lastly, future research proposed order evidence-base protocol.
