摘要: There have long been calls for better pedestrian planning tools within travel demand models, as they slow to incorporate the large body of research connecting built environment and walking behaviors. Most regional forecasting performed in practice US uses four-step despite advances development implementation activity-based models. This paper introduces a framework that facilitates abilities models represent activity, allowing metropolitan organizations (MPOs) implement these with minimal changes existing modeling systems. Specifically, first spatial unit from transportation analysis zones (TAZs) finer-grained geography suited trips. The MPO's trip generation are applied at this all Then, walk mode choice model is used identify subset trips made by walking. Trips other modes aggregated TAZ level proceed through remaining steps model. distributed destinations using approach, thus identifying origins destinations. In paper, proof-of-concept application included demonstrate successful operation data Portland, Oregon, region. Opportunities future work include more on potential routes between trips, another region, developing ways could be implemented
