摘要: Acre State is located in the southwest of Amazonia (Brazil) and internationally known for its fossiliferous sites which have yielded well-preserved fossils major relevance to understanding Cenozoic paleofauna South America, mainly during Miocene. In order preserve this paleontological heritage study material from formations outcropping across south western Amazonia, Paleontological Research Laboratory was created 1980s at Federal University (acronym UFAC Portuguese) houses a collection including over 4500 catalogued specimens (mainly invertebrates, fish, reptiles, birds mammals) small Museum open scientific community wider society. This paper aims identify geoheritage value fossil record Acre, represented by collected Solimoes Formation (Miocene Pliocene) last three decades stored UFAC. The qualitative evaluation system used, integrates both social uses, can also be applied other Brazilian collections, create National Database, similar that already developed Geological Paleobiological Sites.
