Responses of Different Panicum miliaceum L. Genotypes to Saline and Water Stress in a Marginal Mediterranean Environment

摘要: The aims of this study were to evaluate: (1) the effect sodium chloride (NaCl) and mannitol at different osmotic pressures on germination three proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) genotypes (VIR 9181, Unikum, Kinelskoje) under controlled laboratory conditions; (2) effects irrigation water salinity, maximum crop evapotranspiration (ETm) restitution regimes, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation forage production in a marginal Mediterranean soil for that showed highest lowest seed germination. In experiment, Unikum genotype (95.1%), whereas was found Kinelskoje (80.4%). Regardless osmoticum type, significantly reduced by pressure increases. higher fresh biomass yield (FBY) (620.4 ± 126.3 g m−2) than (340.0 73.5 m−2). AMF did not influence FBY salt conditions, while absence conditions it increased (+50.7%) as compared uninoculated treatment (552.5 269 25% ETm both (−86.2% −84.1% Kinelskoje, respectively) sd 100% treatments (1090.3 49.7 m−2 587 72.2 Kinelskoje). obtained results give novel information about low-input agriculture semi-arid land.
