摘要: Abstract The present study was designed to examine changes in glutathione metabolism the liver of mice as influenced by supplementation their diet with 1 4 antioxidants: butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), hydroxytoluene (BHT), vitamin E and selenium. In addition determination acid-soluble thiol levels, 5 different enzymes involved utilization synthesis were measured: transferase, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, selenium-dependent peroxidase, γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase reductase. All antioxidants produced significant increases transferase activity, BHA BHT being much more effective than other two. With exception E, BHA, selenium all resulted a slight enhancement activity reductase well level. On hand, induction transpeptidase responsive only supplementation, respectively. Although influence each these appears be specific somewhat compartmentalized, overall impression is that an increased capacity for glutathione-conjugate formation recovery reduced glutathione. These biochemical may relevant anticarcinogenic effects observed
