The drive is deenergized by signal from tape-operated controller and inertia system permitted to till energy dissipated. second operates electromagnetic clutches gear trains slowly sensing device feels selected position spindle. then deenergizes slow moves toward operated coasting lock In event does not reach position, again energized process driving repeated secured.
