摘要: Summary •Cold acclimation in conifers is a complex process, the timing and extent of which reflects local adaptation varies widely along latitudinal gradients for many temperate boreal tree species. Despite their ecological economic importance, little known about global changes gene expression that accompany autumn cold conifers. •Using three populations Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis) spanning species range, Picea cDNA microarray with 21 840 unique elements, within- among-population was monitored during autumn. Microarray data were validated selected genes using real-time PCR. •Similar numbers significantly twofold upregulated (1257) downregulated (967) between late summer early winter. Among those dehydrins, pathogenesis-related/antifreeze genes, carbohydrate lipid metabolism involved signal transduction transcriptional regulation. Among-population hybridizations at time points revealed substantial variation transcriptome, some may reflect adaptation. •These results demonstrate complexity conifers, highlight similarities differences to tolerance annual plants, provide solid foundation functional genetic studies this important adaptive process.
